And once its installed, go into it, select "motherboard" and it will tell you in the bottom row what type of memory you have, and what speed. post it here please. thank you

i defragged my hard drive and it helped quite a bit but i still think ill pick up some ram just incase.

I think this is probably an issue with the game itself, rather than your hardware or anything. Try downloading the latest patch or something, or even an older one. That might work.

It's your video card my friend, as AW_3_3 has mentioned. Your video card takes off 128mb of memory from your RAM and uses it to handle your graphics. It's not tha GPU that will only handle the graphics but also your processor, causing a slow down and lags. I also recommend you to buy a new video card so that you may play C&C gens very smoothly. Do you have a PCI-e or AGP slot?
