Unhappy [Pending] does this mean i need more RAM or what?

hello, i am new to the forum, so howdy!....

my issue is this....

i recently bought comand and conquor generals and was super exited to play it as it has been about three years since i last did, but the prblem is that it runs all wonky. what happens is it will run smoothly for 4 seconds, than freeze up for 1 second than run smoothly than freeze up again for 1 and keeps doing this. i turned all the graphical settings to low, i turned off all the bells and wistles exept the fire and heat effects since they aew the best part.

my system specs are as follows, and i know this isnt all that greatm but from what ive read i meet even the recomended specs for the game.

AMD athlon 3200 2.0 ghz
onboard nvidia geforce 6100
512 ram, however i only really have 384 mb of ram, with the remaining 128 being a part of the gpu, whatever the hell that means!!!

hmmmm i think thats all i need to mention.....

anyways, are the stutters do to my gpu? the min requirements is geforce 3, so i dont think its that. my direct x version is 9 and i have no firewalls or anything that i know of bogging my system down.

so what can it be. do i need more ram?

OH! and my hard drive has 75 percent of its capacity still remaining.

i would say that the biggest problems are that you are using a onboard video card, a geforce 6100 is very lo-end, not to mention you are using up 128MB as video memory. the biggest issues are the only 512MB, which is barely bare-minumum nowadays, and the very lo-tech video card. if you have the money to spend, i would buy a new video card, and some more memory

oh, and i should also mentiom that when playing the campaign mode there is no slow down or lag what so ever, only in single player and online skirmishes does it occour.

any advice is appreciated.

If when playing online it goes slowly, but when playing offline it doesn't, then it may be your internet connection speed that causes the lagg.

jake,
