Me and my friend have been trying to play age of empires 2: Conquerors online but have been having trouble. When we create games and try to play together using gamespy, for the person not hosting it says "Unable to connect". Now, the answer probly lies in portforwarding, but I thought I'd tell you my internet setup first.

There is a USB cable running from my DSL modem to my computer. There is an ethernet cable running from my DSL modem to my Linksys WRT54G wireless router. There is an ethernet cable running from my wireless router to my computer.

So... I have 2 internet connections. the 10mbps one from the dsl modem has a static ip of 192.168.254.2 . The 100mbps router connection static ip is 192.168.1.20 .

It's kinda of confusing for me, but i need to forward ports to my computer, and I'm not entirely sure what ip to use.

Not having played the game myself its quite hard to see the exact problem but i have some ideas.

Check the Game is actually on Internet not LAN.

Have you accepted all requests from your firewall?

Yeah that's quite a easy mistake to do, I've done it before .
