I know what your thinking, and no, i'm not using any "emulation software".

Yet my brand spanking new copy (got it just an hour ago) of Colin Mcrae Rally DiRT seems to think otherwise.

Regardless what drive i put the disc in, it throws this error at me when it tries to run:



I'd really appreciate some help right now..

I'm absolutely furious. It's this kind of rubbish that provokes piracy in the first place, and i say this after having a boatload of problems with "Starforce" protected games. (games that use this tend to really screw with your OS, causing lockups and crashes which ive experienced on Vista)

I'm afraid i think, that if you've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and patching, it's going to be a problem your going to have to contact Codemasters about . I'm not sure though, maybe someone else has a idea .

i Just read in the manual that this game uses both Starforce and "FADE" copy protection system.

i think i'll try the starforce remover on that site and see if it does anything.

Jesus, i'm so angry right now, i'm actually considering taking the game back.

Just tried it and its only brought back my starforce symptoms - missing CD drives, mouse doesn't work, long pauses...game still refuses to run.

If i knew DiRT used Starforce i would'nt have brought it, i never saw it on the game list on that boycott starforce site.

Hmm, yeah I would take it back too, only problem is Game shops in the Uk are very hard to take Pc games back to .
