Default Unrecognised event ID

Hi everyone, I've been having a little problem lately game-wise. My games keep on crashing randomly (or so it would seem). The event ID seen by windows is ID 1000. And guess what? Microsoft as no documentation whatsoever about this event. I've tried looking around a lot in forums to find out what it could be, but up till now I haven't found any info at all (except for an similar event but in win2k not in XP). Hope some can help me out. I'd really love to go back to happily-ever-gaming.

Welcome to the PCHF Kuroi.

I'm not surprised that Microsoft don't have record of this Event ID as it's supplied by an EA game

The first step would be to make sure your chipset drivers are up to date, and reinstall them even if they are. Then do the same with your video card drivers.

I made a fresh install today since I just bought my new video card ... The video card drivers are brand new, but as for the chipset drivers, I'm using the ones provided from the winXp install since I didn't knew exactly which ones I might need. Thanks a lot for the answer though.

BTW, the data I reported is only an example since it happened with some other games also

No problems.

Your motherboard has a VIA chipset. If you follow the Guru3D link in my singniture, you will be able to download the latest chipset drivers.
