Default Battlefield 2142 Problems

Battlefield 2142 was working fine yesterday and the day before now i turn my pc on today and as soon as it gets to the gun select screen my computer just freezes.

Why is it doing this ive tried near enough everything.

And can people not give stupid answers like:-

Have to updated your video card? Yes i have

Have you checked the system reqs? No of course not i just bought the game and hoped for the best -.-

Ive seen alot onthe internet about this and many people are experiencing the same thing.

Hi thedudesam.

Off the top of my head I'm going to place my first suspicion on heat or the power supply. If this just started happening and it was working fine before it could be one of those.

Hmmm, have you installed a recent patch? It could be that a new patch, while solving another issue could end up causing this issue, a possibility if it's happening in such a widespread manner.

If you haven't already done so, check your fans and your CPU temps (try running speedfan and then the game). Also use it to check to make sure you don't have any scary voltage fluctuations.

WARNING>>>MANDATORY STUPID QUESTION APPROACHING!!!!!!!
Was your computer plugged in at the time of the error?

Just kiddin.

Ive uninstalled it, then reinstalled it patched it to 1.25 and then patched punkbuster. Then i try the game but it still crashes when the class select screen comes up at the start of the round.

This is so annoying i payed 30 quid for this i expect my games to work when I want not when THEY want.

Ive done a chkdsk /r

Ive cleared my temp files

Ive done a defrag

Ive cleaned my regestries

My graphics card is up to date.

Can anyone help please, this is really getting on my nerves.

Okay dude, I'm still thinking that it's a recent patch that's causing the problem.

Try reinstalling the program one more time and then try to run it unpatched, does it behave then?

I tried that and it did the same thing.

I removed my nvidia drivers and reinstalled them, i could play for around 40 seconds trouble free, then freeeeeze.

Then i thought it was my drivers and then i uninstalled them and installed some old ones and it just crashes like the new ones, why is it just this game cant the developers of DICE (owned by EA) make a stupid game that gives people no bloody hasle, jeez...

Ok, I'm going to ask you to right click on My Computer and click on manage.

Open the event viewer and clear all the logs from the "software errors" section. Run the game after that's cleared and when it freezes, close it/ reboot your computer and then go back into the event viewer and see if there are any warnings/errors that look like they could be battlefield related.
