Not too sure about this but judging by the recommended specs for both it appears pretty similar apart from oblivion wanting a slightly better graphics card.

FEAR
  • Pentium(R) 4 3.0 GHz or equivalent processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 256 MB Radeon(R) 9800 Pro, GeForce(TM) 6600 or equivalent DirectX(R) 9 card
Oblivion
  • 3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
  • 1 GB System RAM
  • ATI X800 series, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series, or higher video card
Looking at your system specs you should get away with it as it is higher than the minimum specs but a little lower than recommended.

So i could run oblivion quite nicely, looking nicely?

(I always play my games in 800x600) Unless they need to be 1024X768

As I said, I'm not too sure, I'm not much of a PC gamer but looking at the min/recommended and comparing with FEAR I'm assuming you'll be able to run it.

At what res/detail/frame rate I don't know.

Maybe one of the other guys can answer that one

Lebo is correct...

Oblivion and FEAR were system killers when they came out
Mine can't run Oblivion max detail smoothly...but i do use my native resolution (1920x1200)...i'm sure if i was running at 800x600 it would work beautifully
