Default Optimizing Vista for Games

Ok, first of all - I didn't figure this "tweak" out, so props goto the orginal forum, and guys who created it here - Vista games optimising - nV News Forums

Second of all - this "fix" alters the game EXE file, so backup your original .EXE file before doing this for future patching requirements

This example is done with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

What this "fix" does is quite simple.

Vista uses 4gb of Virtual Memory and it changes Vista from using 2gb, and the application (game in this instance) using 2gb, to the application using 3gb and vista using 1 gb.

From what I've read in the afore mentioned thread, it's got a higher success rate in Vista64 then it does in Vista32.

Check it out, and have fun with new found performance in Vista
