Default [Fixed] Graphics card problem

I was playing Oblivion with a Radeon x1950 crossfire ready card and it was doing fine at high settings, but when I added a x1950 crossfire edition and set them in crossfire mode the game looked like a movie, for about half an hour then crashed. When I rebooted and tried to load the game again the screen looked like something out of the movie The Matrix and then rebooted itself. Now one card won't work at all and the other still has the same problem. I have rolled back the drivers using driver cleaner.net each time and still no help.I also reinstalled the game. I tried setting the game at low settings and it still crashes.

I have also run dxdiag.and when the test gets to full screen mode "BAM" reboot!
Any idea whats going on here?????

Also......everytime I reboot I get an error box telling me my system has just recovered from a serious error.

hi bitdman
am running same config as you 2 x1950 in crossfire, 1st thought is have you got a big enough psu, i think you need at least 650 watt jobby for crossfire, got a 1kw one here at the moment.

also check the dongles are secured tight at back of cards.
and 1 final check is to see if all leads are secure in mobo after the insertion. sometimes you can inadvertantly loosen some playin in there.

does sound power related to me though mate.

Having never worked with SLI/Crossfire this is just basic, but have you checked temps as I imagine it would run pretty hot.

Also as bornslippy5 said the PSU may be at fault, what is the sustainable power output? (NOT peak) also do you have an ATX psu tester? or know anyone that has access to one?

Bornslippy5 and lebowski.... You are both right on I have an alternate power source called "booster X3( a waste of $90) I unpluged it and pluged in my PSU and that solved the graphics problem but one of the cards is still dead. I have to try to get a replacement from HIS.

Thanks guys
