Default Monitor turning off

Hello all.
I'm having a few problems with NBA 07.
When I'm in a game the monitor just switches itself off like going into hibernate mode at random times. When I got the game a coupla days ago it worked fine, then towards the end of a game, but now it seems to do it almost as soon as I start to play a fixture.
I had the same problem a while ago with Pro Evo, but that has sorted itself with a fresh install.
I've installed and reinstalled on both my drives, tried new graphics drivers, changing the settings in game, pretty much everything I can think of.

WHATS GOING ON!?

I really hope you can help. Cheers.

Hey Charlmot,

Let's rule out malware first, can you please carefully follow the instructions for PreWork in my signature. Post back with the resulting two logs.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Hi. Thanks for the reply.
However, can I lead you to another of my posts : http://www.pchelpforum.com/hijackthi...1-slow-pc.html

I'm not sure whats causing it as it seems my logs are pretty clean.

Thanks for the assistance. I hope I can sort it, it's beginning to annoy me now.

Cheers

Hi charlmort - what stage of gameplay does the monitor switch off?
As you load the level? or in the menu? or in the middle of a game?

It could be just a simple setting that your monitor can't handle - a resolution or refresh rate setting perhaps?

On a side note....this IS an EA game...notorious for bugs....i'd just to make sure that there's no new patches for the game.

Hi Garhar. The game crashes randomly during an actual basketball match and at no other time. Sometimes I can make it through the game, sometimes not, sometimes it crashes instantly. I've also tried with the new patch installed, and still no luck.

I'm stumped

Check your power settings, assuming your on XP:

Start -> Control Panel -> Power options

Make sure they look like this:

Power Schemes tab:

Advanced tab:

Hibernate tab:

Make sure after you have changed the settings that you click "Apply" then "OK".

Hope this helps!

just a quick question, you havnt overclocked your Graphics Card have you.

I had a similar problem to this where i would just get a black screen half way through a game of Call of duty 2 but after lowering the clock speeds of my graphics card all was well.
