Looks like you may have used the wrong file from my suggestion. Did you make sure that you got exatly the right file for your version of the game? Did you replace exactly the same file?

Ahhh. I have the collector's edition, so could that be the problem?

If it is, then there's no crack for it.

Aha. Problem solved. Turned out the crack did work, it was just my graphics card wasn't compatible. My NVIDIA GeForce4 MX isn't supported, so I switched to my other card, my ATI All-In-Wonder 9000.
