Question Call of Duty 2 Install

Hi...I must first start by saying I'm not as computer "affluent" as some of the people I have read posts from. I got COD2 from my brother in law - said "Here, try this, you'll like it". When I put the first install disk in, it gives me an error message right away that states: "Missing library MSVCR80.dll required by "C:\Program Files\Common files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE12\MSOXMLMF.DLL".
Now for the PC specifics (as much as I can give): OS is XP, we are also running an Office 2007 (Beta), 3500+ AMD Sempron Processor, 512MB RAM, ATI Radeon Express 200. It's a Compaq/HP (NO, I'll never make that mistake again).
I have installed 2 separate digital imaging editing software programs, and a couple of other small games without problems.
Can someone please help?!?!? I am going to try to uninstall the Beta program and see if I can install it that way.
RS

Hi there and welcome to the forum.

Do you have Windows Defender installed on your PC?

Thanks for the welcome...no Windows Defender. Could the Beta Office '07 be causing a problem? I'm really having 2nd thoughts about even wanting to play this game. As long as whatever we do to try to fix it doesn't disrupt my photo imaging software (I am a semi-pro photographer and these are essential). I don't think I'm that computer "dumb"...I have installed and setup a wireless network between the "studio", this PC that I'm on, the main one, and a laptop. All of the functions that I need are working properly...studio PC and laptop are "business only"
