I did a reformat 3 weeks ago and divided my HDD into two partitions. 50 gb for c and 20 gb for f.

Ok...with your BIOS...for some reason i thought you had a 6600 not a x1900 hahaha...silly me.

Ok - Set your intergrated video card to disabled or as low as possible...and there's no option to set the PCI-e to primary?

After we've finished with your BIOS - i'm going to give you a few tweaks to try in windows...but they're fairly risky to do (they involve tweaking the registry a bit)...so what i'll do is get you to create a system restore point now, just incase everything goes pair shaped

No. Only two choices.

-Auto : sets the primary video controller to... bla bla bla, (I forget the language) but basically it sets it to the pci e slot IF a card is installed there.

-Integrated : title says it all

system restore point done. Bios tweak done.

*rubs hands* bring it ^_^

Ok...

Now, I'm currently at work and I will have to type them up...so it's going to take me a while to get them...and obviously my work is priority while I'm at work - so I may not be able to post said tweaks until I get home.

Until then...Boot into safe mode and do a defrag in that under the Administrator user - it may help

Just a quick aside, you can do the online virus scanner in Safe Mode, as long as you choose Safe Mode w/ Internet (sorry the exact phrase escapes me), and start your FireWall prior to going online.

Really interested in seeing your tweaks Gar,
