'lo. I'm an avid Counter Strike Source player. I've been using the standard Microsoft Optical Mouse since I started. I play pretty well with it, I mostly use the AWP.

I just want to know, if I play with the Logitech G5 - will my gaming performance improve? I just want to play, I don't want to change my DPI settings in the game - just play on one setting. Will I get faster click responses and will it be easier to track a target? Are there any other benefits? Thanks.

well there is an optical mouse and a lazer mouse.....the lazer mouse is more accurate and the added weight slots make it a lot gamer friendly....but they are wayyy more expensive than optical mouses...it will improve your CS performance by a very small percentage

I own a logitech g7 (wireless laser) and accuracy is MUCH better. Think of dpi like your monitor resolution. Okay, now think of a ball mouse as an integrated graphics card from 1995. Think of an optical mouse as an integrated graphics card from today. Now, think of a laser mouse (such as the g5 or g7) as an 8800 gtx geforce.

laser is deadly, laser is accurate, and laser is fast. My gameplay when I went from an optical mouse to laser improved to well.... I used to get a .80 kd ratio, now, in most servers I play on, its around 2 - 3.0 , my accuracy went from 15% to about 35-40%. My hs % hovers around 40-50 % where before it was about 20% if I was lucky.

I advise you stay far far far away from the razer line of products, especially the copperhead. I bought one and it died on me seven months later. I submitted 7 tickets over a period of one month and didnt get ONE reply. contacting customer service over the phone is a joke, and they definitely do not honor their warranty. I went logitech after and havent regretted it since. I prefer wireless since with wired mice, the cord drags on the mousepad, and tends to mess up my aim.

The best gaming mouse i have EVER used - was a Razer Diamondback...it's a year or so old now - and there's a newer Razer mouse...called Copperhead

I have a diamondback now and it is outstandingly stupidly fantastically ridiculously great for any game that i have ever played - fps/rts/point and click adventure/solitaire
