There is no such thing as too much power

If you're concerned about power - follow the PSU Calculator link in my signiture and it will tell you what you need

well, I would highly reccomend going with the dell xps line. they can beat that system hands down, and can work out a financing plan with you if you qualify.

personally, Im not a big fan of intel now... my pentium 4 is crappy in games compared to amd....

intel = quanity
amd = quality

core2duo is gonna look like a PoS in a couple years, so hold your horses and keep an eye on the market. You cant go wrong with amd + ati crossfire. check out 3dmark 06, you'll see the 8800 geforce isnt even on the fastest system config, its two x1950's on crossfire mode ^_^

need I mention the very sexy and exciting ageia physx card included in the xps?

too bad I dont qualify for dell's finanancing , even though my credit references are impeccable... Im only 20... cant believe I have to be a 30 year old "coot" in order to have my credit history on the radar.

aaron's ftw ! (I hope, RAC is the cyberpower of rent to own)

Dell are good purchases - i have a dell monitor and my work supplies both HP and Dell machines to most of our clients...however..

They are it...there is no room for upgrades in the future....

And in regards to the two x1950's in crossfire - sure...but that's old technology...get 2 8800GTX in SLI and it won't be the same situation.

Personally however..I'd wait until ATI release their DX10 card...and get that...it will be much better then the 8800.

Also - the Ageia physx card was a waste of money to start with - i'm sure they've increased this now...but when the card was first released...the games that did support it reportedly had half the performance instead of twice...

I'm not trying to disagree or disuade....i just personally believe all the facts are necessary to make a decision

well, I took my stock power supply out and put a new one in so I could install my x1900 , and my 4700 had four ram slots.... hrm....

they have a very small upgrade option, but now if I want to upgrade, it looks like a new case, motherboard, and processor for me. I just recycle the rest of my parts into the new one.

I think its always been
Nvidia - intel
ATI - AMD

I heard that some future cards were going to have PPU's on them, but I think heating issues came into play...

dissapointed about hearing about ageia physx.... I keep reading that its a pretty awesome bonus to have in a system... I guess only for 3d mark though.
