Just wanted to let you know my doom is working once more. It was pretty simple, I just had never installed my ATI drivers again. you rock GaRHaR, thanks again for the help

ps: do the drivers at the link you gave me actually work better than the official drivers from ATI?

Not a problem at all zeller!

And yes, those drivers do work better then the official drivers, they are modified by gamers for gamers and don't have all the extra stuff you don't need (such as the control centre).
