Default Trouble With Online Gaming
We got ADSL today (router), before this we had dial-up. When I try to run steam to play Counter Strike Source online it gives the updating screen but nothing happens, then after a while it says I am not connected to the internet. I also tried to install XFire but it does not want to connect.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

hey sidd,

are you connected to the internet though the ADSL? im reading alot of counterstrike forums and people have been complaining about ADSL problems why trying to play.

YES I am. Is there anything I can do - because online gaming is the thing I looked forward to the most, and now I can't even do it . There HAS to be something I can do... Can you please give me the link of the forums you are reading?

Hi Sidd,

it's probably a remnant of your old Dialup connection

Can you goto Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Connections

And make sure Never dial an internet connection is marked, and push OK.
