Hello 1200pro,

Welcome to pchf,

Lockups like these are usually caused when the graphics card itself is overheating. The 7800gt has a fan attached. Make sure the slot next to the 7800gt is not used, so that the fan can blow the hot air away, this really does make a difference. You can also use NVidia NTune which records the temperatures of your card:
NVIDIA nTune

Just to note monkey - 1200pro is running an a8n sli (same board as mine) There is a gap of 3 slots (if no 2nd video card is installed) before the first PCI slot

Is this video card overclocked at all?

Silly question - have you updated the drivers?

not so silly question - have you overclocked any of the computer? CPU? Memory?

yeah drivers are all up to date, and no nothing is overclocked.

IDK maybe it is overheating. I run ntune to monitor the temp and I have noticed occasional temp spikes, but the time in the logs dont seem to match up.

lately Ive been running Ntune everytime I play just to make sure.
