Default [Fixed] Diablo 1 LAN Problem

I really want to play Diablo with another computer in my house.
When I click on LAN IPX it says, "Unable to initialize selected connection method." Do you think I need to configure my pc differently? Someone suggested changing my ipx protocol. I don't know how to do this. I am running xp. I am using a belkin wireless router, but not using the wireless.

Hello GhastMaster,

I've not played Diablo, but take a look at this link:

Thanks Madmonkey,
That site was probably made for previous versions of windows. In XP do you know how I would figure out if my ipx/spx protocol is installed? Should I ask this question in a networking forum rather than pc games?

nvm, I figured out how to use that site. I still don't think it's possible to lan with old games. If anyone knows how to change ipx stuff in belkin routers that would be sweet.

Hi GhastMaster, it is 100% possible to play Dialbo over LAN on XP

Infact, it is 100% possible to play old games over lan in any operating system - i still play quake 1 in 64bit windows

Are you still getting the same error message?

Hey GaRHaR,
Yeah, I have tried setting the port stuff like the link in Madmonkey's post said on both computers, but I am still getting the same problem. I am using a Belkin Wireless Pre-N Router. I do have a network set up also. If you can help me do this my brother will not have to move out(and play on battle.net).
