Thanks Hengis,

That would have helped a lot if I had a static ip! I am using timewarner cable which is uses dynamic ip rather than static. Is it still possible to set up port forwarding without a static ip? I don't know if timewarner offers a static ip and I don't want to hassle with them either, so that is not an option(my parents have the account).

I am still confused however. Do I need to do this port forwarding to use Diablo over a LAN?

Thanks to all those who helped. After about 2 days of internet searching and computer tweaking and toggling I finally can LAN with diablo1!!! It's 4 a.m. and I can finally sleep. Once again, thanks for all the help.
