Hello Migelloh

Welcome to PCHF

I play WOW occationaly too and while I have had it crash to desktop before I have never had the entire computer shut down. I dont have much more RAM then you do and my motherboard isnt exactly new. I do have a good Graphics card though I cant remember what it is right off the top of my head. But, I dont know what would cause your problem. I'm sure someone will though and I'll do a search to see if anyone else has had the same problem in the mean time. Later!!

Hey Migelloh - welcome to the PCHF!

I would say your problem is WoW...and I'll stand by that until the day I die....however...since that isn't the real answer, lets try and figure it out for you...

From the sound of your problem, it's either a windows problem, or a driver problem. First upgrade your chipset and video card drivers. If that doesn't work, goto Start -> Run -> sfc /scannow
If that doesn't work, follow the Prework steps located in PJ's signiture.

Hope this helps!

Chipset drivers are for your motherboard.

If you've been installing Windows without these chipset drivers, this could be the cause of the problem. Almost every single computer tech will advise you to install the chipset drivers immediatly after windows has been installed.

Can you please tell me what motherboard you have in your computer?
You can use this software here to find that out.

ps. you don't sound dumb.
