I have this really annoying problem where I will play a game and then randomly the screen goes to a blank blue screen and the sounds starts to skip and get distorted. I fear this could be a serious problem and I don't know what could be causing this. It happens on all the games I play but it only happens when I play games. this never used to happen with my old graphics card and I fear that when I tried to flash my current card I may have messed it up? (its a radeon x850 and I tried to flash it from 12 pipelines to 16 only to find out I had the wrong model so I flashed it back.) if anyone has any idea as to what the problem could be or any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Is the bios patch official?

well when I tried to flash the card I used this guide on overclocking.net and I also got the bios downloads from there as well... http://www.overclock.net/ati/28036-h...highlight=x850 (by the way my card is a x850 pro). however, I tried to do this flash a few months ago when I got the game F.E.A.R and I wanted to have those extra pipelines. this problem never occured until just recently however when I was playing elder scrolls oblivion and that was the first time I ever noticed this problem... ever since then it has happened with all of my games.

First I would like to say, flashing your card will never give you extra pipelines. I flash and old 9800 pro ro an 9800xt but I did not get the extra 2 pipelines just the memory clock speed and core clock.

Another question would be are you getting any artifacts on your screen as well?
Like a bunch of color lines going all across the screen or really fuzzy black squares anywhere or triangular spikes? If not It may not be your card, you might want to try an older driver.

hi, good to see I'm getting help. but to answer your question no I'm not getting any artifacts on the screen or anything like that. and I actually already have ati tool and I use it to keep the clock and fan speeds. I just started playing world of warcrack and occasionally and very rarely will the game go back to windows with an error screen instead of the blue screen. I remember it saying something had happened with the memory maybe? as soon as it happens again I'll have a better explaination. but I also have a problem where nothing installs on my pc. I just bought the logitech g15 keyboard and even that won't install. I can't install more games on my computer or anything. the installation will start but it will hang and then never finish. I don't know if this is related or not but I decided I'd mention it.

Can you right click my computer...click manage..event viewer..then click on applications, and let us know if there are any red or yellow marks in the apps, then go down to system and see what errors come in there most of the time

its fine I'm just glad to be getting some help. anyway I tried what you said and for some reason I am unable to view those. whenever I clicked on application or system or any of them for that matter, non of them would open and it said "unable to complete the operation on "application". The interface is unknown.".
