Facebook gets a new privacy policy

After going through the views of a rather small number of users who commented on its new, proposed privacy policy, social network Facebook has decided to go ahead and adopt the document which is supposed to be more open, transparent and easier to understand. “In the coming weeks and months, we plan to build on the progress we’ve already made in making the document more accessible by also adding definitions of key terms, screen shots of important pages and informational “learn more” videos.

Google Image Swirl takes pictures for a spin

The Google Labs team has just rolled out a new project which is aimed at making image search more fun by bringing together technologies used for Similar Images and Picasa Face Recognition.

Dubbed Image Swirl, the experimental image search tool puts together similar images in groups, and each group is shown on the results page as a thumbnail.
