Hey all, I found a setup a while back for your BIOS settings to obtain 4GHz on a Core i7 920 seated in an eVGA X58 3x SLI. I've been using it for quite a while now, so it seems stable. Here's what you need to change:
Turn OFF Virtualization, Turbo Mode, SpeedStep
VCore - 1.325v
CPU VTT Volt - +50mV
BCLK - 200
CPU PLL - 1.4v
DIMM Volt - 1.60 (This is just for my RAM, set for whatever yours needs)
QPI PLL Core - 1.3v
PWM Freq - 933
QPI - 4.8GT/s
This will bring your i7 920 to a blistering 4000MHz. I'm using a Mugen 2 CPU cooler with dual 120mm fans (push/pull), and the temps are around 40c idle, 60-70 load.
This is only tested with eVGA X58/i7 920 setups. If this is what you have, then you too can be the proud owner of a 4GHz quad-core
. I assume most of this info can be ported to any motherboard. Good luck!
