Hey X,

Whether or not the PSU was being drained to far, depends on what the specs for it were.

You are always best giving a PSU a comfort zone level, so that you stay away from over taxing it. Check out the specs for your old one, and make sure that you are well above your needs when you purchase your new one.

We'll look forward to hearing what the tech has to say.

Hey again ladygreen

How do i check the specifications of my PSUs.I know there are diff dc outputs 12VDC, 5VCD, and 3VDC is higher the better for each one? i mean even though my last PSU was a cheap one it still had 860w max, my systems requires about 750w.

Yeah im about to buy a new one, im hovering between one of these....

Hey X,

You need to pay attention to how much your components need, and be above it.

We have someone who is currently researching the best PSUs for the price, I am going to ask him to guide you on this one. Keep an eye out for his post.

howdy Yep a cheap power supply would do that. $25 for 860 watts? Bad news, that computer dude is ripping you off big time. I think this power supply should be good for you

Finally the technician gives some feedback, according to him it turns out the graphics card and power supply unit are both dead, they are causing my pc failing to post. Not sure if i believe him :S

Hey Guys,

@ X, who did you take the computer to? Being able to trust your repair tech is really important, and it isn't always easy to find someone you should trust.

If you are uncomfortable, I would take back the PC, and purchase the PSU Aw recommended, and test it, if you still aren't getting a picture, you will know that the graphics card may also need to be replaced.

I'm concerned about your guy charging you so much.

Let us know what you decide to do.

Looking forward to your reply,
