okay, thats fixed now.
so, do you reckon its okay to forget about these seemingly bogus cpu readings, and just watch the cores?
or should i try remounting the heatsink? i did that recently, and i lapped the heatsink to make sure it was super flat, and was fully in contact, so i fear it would be pointless to do it again.

IMO I would not really worry about the temps especially since you lapped the cpu! And you have a descent Cpu heatsink.fan..

Like I siad you wont see a rise in heat until you start raising the v-core (cpu volts) so Overclock away..
As you see my temps and that is a 600 mgz overclock.

ok, will do, il just ignore cpu temp for the moment.
it seems to be quite a common problem with asus mobos, reporting the wrong cpu temp.
CPU vs. Core Temps - anyone seen this one?

cheers! case closed
