Having said that; I've downloaded SpeedFan and I'm downloading EasyTune now, and SpeedFan I'm having some slight trouble understanding. From what I'm seeing, it does not pick up on the fans in the case, but rather only the CPU Fan, and the GPU fan, correct? The numbers it is giving me are as follows: GPU: 50C (it has a little fire symbol which worries me...) Temp 1: 30C Temp 2: 28C Temp 3: -2C Temp: 0C Fan 1: 875 RPM Fan 2-5 0 RPM and CPU: 42C (with a red UP arrow) Local: 39C Remote 2: 42C HD0 25C I've attached an image for easier viewing; is there anything wrong with what this is showing, and should I have automatic fan speed checked? As you've said, I won't use any overclocking tools until I'm positive I can do so 'relatively' safely.

Hello again.
Ok your fan temps some times do not show due to the fact that some cases do not have fans that are attached to the mainboard but are attached directly to the power supply.Myne are attached to the power supply so never show a reading. Yes your GPU is a little warm but not way over to a danger zone.I asume your GPU is PCI card and not onboard. You could try reapplying thermal paste which is always a good idea. Over time things get a little dirty inside and a good clean of the internals can often lower temps.Although doing the above may help a little or a lot.A new GPU cooler maybe in order. If you OC the GPU I would worry as it shows a little warm. But again reapply thermal paste and or new cooler attached would proberly fix that. Your hard drive looks a little cool if you have a sensor attached to it make sure it is attached correctly or it is just a false reading. Most HDDs temps are around the 30 mark. But not a great worry realy. I would give the computer a general cleanup and run something like Sandra. Open command prompt and copy and paste in chkdsk /r and check the health of your hard drive. If you get cannot run now would you like to schedule then type Y and restart the computer and let chkdsk run. Also you can run this:http://www.pchelpforum.com/memory/58...nload-run.html See what shows up with the stress testing and then any issues we can go and help you further. JB.

50C for an 8800 is fine. Most GPU's are designed to work at high temps and hace a much higer tolerance than CPU's. For CPU's you should worry if you pass 65-70 but for most GPU's the worry point isn't until 90.
The easiest way to overclock is to change the FSB in the bios. Unfortunately I can't help you in where to find it. Also, if you get to a point where you can't overclock anymore, try increasing the vcore (cpu voltage) VERY SLIGHTLY. Increasing the voltage too much can fry your cpu. Also, don't worry about OCing too much. Newer mobo's will detect if something is wrong an revert back to default settings. P.S. You've had a Wolfdale for a year and are only just now thinking about overclocking? I got mine about 2 weeks ago and I have mine at 3.83GHz ![]() P.P.S If you don't have one already buy an aftermarket heatsink. It's not really a good idea to OC with stock. I recommend the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro if you're on a budget. If not try the Scythe Ninja 2.

Here are a couple of useful guides, one regarding overclocking in general, and the other with your Gigabyte board:

You should not that even if you overclock and have good temperatures, the cpu can still possibly get damaged as it stresses the core
