Hello mate, have you tried looking for updated drivers for your card? And also maybe a game update?

Check that you aren't running a lot of programs in the background. If you are really desperate, disabling your internet speeds it up a bit too.

If it happened after you uninstalled SP3 then uninstall SP3. Also try updating drivers or if the problem happened after updating drivers, do a rollback.

Also click Start > Run > type msconfig > click OK

and make sure that you don't have more than about ten items ticked in the Startup tab and even then you could untick some of those.

Try doing a disk defrag too with this:

Smart Defrag - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com

And if all that doesn't help, consider buying a faster processor (Dual Core) and perhaps more RAM.

Try disabling all visual effects and fancy graphics in Vista too, I heard that uses a lot of memory.

I just read your post.

You are running Vista with 9 serise card and 2 gig RAM.

The dual core CPU is fine for playing games.

I agree with Smokey try an update of the drivers.

I see you posted in the overclocking section, did you fit better cooling on the GPU other than the one supplied when you purchased the card if you overclocked this card?

Download and check your GPU temps:SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

Well, I've had a few problems with the new nVidia drivers. 180.48 seriously slows down UT3 and NFS Undercover for me. If you're using this driver version try reverting back to 178.28.
