Question [Answered] Can I O/C P4 2.0 GHz?

I recently got my hands on an old PC from work that has a P4 2.0GHz cpu.
I currently run a celeron 2.8ghz (apparently lowest of the low?) but my question is:

Is it worth attempting to overclock the 2.0ghz to get a better system running apps etc.
I don't do gaming and I'm a complete noob to the overclocking process.
Also, someone told me that there is software around that will do the OC set up for me from within the OS. Can anyone recommend something?

Thnx in advance.

In my humble opinion Campbell.0, You will not see enough gain in your apps to risk overclocking. You are better off with more ram. The P4 has either a 512K L2 cache or a 1M as opposed to the Celeron which runs a 256K L2. Even though the P4 is only 2.0ghz, You are likely to see just as good or better preformance than the Celeron.

If you dont game, or do heavy multi-media intesive apps like Autodesk Maya/ video/photo editing etc, then the 2.8Ghz Celeron should be plenty fast for you.

Thnx. I currently have 2gb of ddr inside so I'm kinda maxed out anyways. I'll try sticking the ram in with the P4 and see what happens.

Cheers.
