Hi All
I have recently bought these items and i'm looking to get about 3ghz from the cpu. Should i be able to do it?
Is the cooling enough?
Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (2x2GB) Supplied with Airflow Fan
Asus Rampage Formula Intel X48 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 65W
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
Any help on how to do this would be great
Yours Robbie

Merlin has excellent Overclocking instructions right here: http://www.pchelpforum.com/overclock...rclocking.html
BTW, if your board supports it and it's not too late to return your e6750, an e8400 is only a few $$ more, starts life @ 3.0GHz and has a 50% larger L2 cache: Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - CPUs / Processors

Your limiting factor will be your motherboard. Check reviews to see if it has good OC abilities.

GhastMaster, you'll be hard-pressed to find a motherboard that's anymore Overclocking friendly.

Thanks very much guys. I bought the Motherbaord on the fact it's designed with oc in mind.
The e6750 is an old cpu i don't have enough to buy new one yet, will look at what you suggested next payday. Thanks ![]()

Shoot, I forgot to come and edit this. I was looking at reviews for that motherboard and am in total agreement with ya Cobracon. It looks like a fine board with that auto O/C feature.
