I'm going to be putting together a new system that I'm also going to overclock. This is the new system:

Motherboard: xfx 680i lt (sli)
pcu: e6750
ram: twin2X2048-6400c5dhx (actually 2x1gb, @5-5-5-12, 800mhz)
graphics: 2x evga 7900 gs ko

From what I understand my stock speeds will be:

1) Bus Clock: 333
2) Multiplier: x8
3) CPU: 2664
4) FSB: 1333
5) Ram : 800??
6) FSB Ratio: ??

I plan on overclocking the system really close to this:

1) 400
2) x8
3) 3200
4) 1600
5) 800???
6) ??

I've read several really good guides. I am still a little confused about how the ram speed and ratios work. In my stock set up my bios will automatically set the ratio so that my RAM speed is close to 800mhz? When I OC it will I have to change my FSB Ratio? Maybe I should change the title to, "Oh so confusing Ratios".

PS: If I attain the post OC speeds do you think Thermaltake extreme spirit II, and an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro will sufficiently cool my system with an ambient temp. of 25 degrees celsius?

Hi--Overclocking, especially when trying to predict what a future rig will do... is pretty esoteric stuff.
We have a few guys who OC their gear--
but for what you want to do -- I suggest more specialized info. Especially getting into RAM timings-- if not careful-- you could make yor PC unbootable.
