Default [Answered] Advice on overclocking

Hi, im new to custome building computers, but i took a whack at it and built a new one for myself. Now i dnt know anything about overclocking so i was wondering if you guys could give me advice on "what to overclock to." Im running ->this<- motherboard, with an AMD Athlon 64 x2 5000+ processor. I also have a geforce 8600 512mb video card and 2x 1gigs of ram soon upgrading to 2x 2gigs, also have a 5 fans in my system. Any suggestions on what to overclock around would be appreciated.

Thanks

Default Re: Advice on overclocking

Hello Gino, welcome to PCHF.

I would personally highly recommend against overclocking. If you decide to do so, make sure that your system is stable enough and that your temperatures are low enough to handle the extra temperature which will result in overclocking. That motherboard you currently have isn't really designed for overclockability. There is also a well written thread already posted by Merlin regarding this subject, which can be found here: http://www.pchelpforum.com/overclock...rclocking.html

EDIT: Marked as Answered.
