Well Getting higher
Finally yes finally got my 4200+ to 3.0ghz not stable yet and its only on air. Volts are looking good as well as the temps
Now I need to take out 2 sticks of my ram to get this dang thing stable enough to run prime 95 for awhile. As of right now I cannot even get it to test on the pit..
Anyone else into overclocking? Just wondering if I am the only one here?
Temps below only stable enought to take the SS lol..

25C on air? wow
I was into overclocking when the bartons were around but at the moment I only have a mac and my laptop since the Power Supply Unit in my OLD desktop blew.
Probably when I build a new desktop but that's because it'll have to be on a budget

Ya all air, but I have 5 120mm fans in the Antec 900 case plus it has a huge 200mm fan on top, plus the Power Supply Unit is on the bootom with anopth 120mm fan blowing right on the cpu. So all together I have 8 fans on there and thier all 120mm exept the 200mm fan on top. Kind of loud though I want to go back and get a CM stacker. That was the best case I ever owend..But thier pricey 299, USA just for the case..
Let me know when you want to build your pc., I have a couple nice cpu's AMD that I have and I will send one of em to you. There all AM2 cpu's..

****, how loud is it? The CM stacker and the antec 900 both look awesome, I was looking at a CM Wavemaster cause I love alu cases and Lian Li's don't really do it for me.

Are you sure man? I wouldn't mind giving you something for it, could go towards the CM stacker

naw thats cool.. I am fine there just laying around anyway, all nice and clean and all..
As for loudness it depends, right now I have all fans on high so its loud, but not as loud as you would think. Sounds like a regular Fan that is on, no vacuum cleaner though lol..When I use speed fan and turn the fans up 100% paste their rated speed then it is very very loud..Almost like a thermaltake tornado..

Hehehe, I remember my first build, it was a Duron 750 (I know I know) had a couple of huge case fans in there and the noisiest cpu fan ever, it was like a helicopter, no good for watching movies.

ya wanna know my secret on gettin these cpu's to be able to withstand the heat?
Only a few do this but it works sooo good I would not suggest trying this unless you know what your doing..
I take 120 grit sandpaper and sand a little bit on the die of the cpu..Then I take some more 200 grit sandpaper and do a little more and lastly I take that fine 450 grit and sand it till all copper shows, (under that silver they hide that nice copper) Now talk about a nice heat dissapation you put that arctic silver on that copper direct and wow you can get a higher overclock with at least 15 to 20 c lower in temps just by spending 30 minutes sanding the cpu

Oh yeah... it's right.. just do it very VERY lightly.. the copper DOES bleed the heat off better. I don't know why they thought they needed to coat it in something else on top of that.

Just be warned if you attempt this sort of thing...
IT WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY
Otherwise...it's yours

Interesting, so then the copper coating is just there to look pretty? Well ima follow your instructions VERY carefully. If sanding it screwd it up ...I'm a hunt you down (';') (';')
