My parents just bought a new Gateway GT5426E with AMD Athlon X2 5200+ (2.6ghz) 2GB DDR2 533, and Geforce 6150SE. Overall it works good, but in gaming, the RAM is too slow. It cant kep up. Im wondering weather the 533 RAM will work on 667. Its the original ram that came with it. I think it would help tremendously. Also, what is teh HT multiplier? The BIOS offes settings from auto, to 5x. I dont know what to do, The BIOS also offers RAM timing settings. Thanks for the help there!

If you arent sure what you are doing I would stay well away from those overclocking options. If you do something wrong you could seriously harm the system. Also what do you mean by the RAM is too slow?

I mean that the RAM is too slow for the Processor and video. it is the bottleneck of the computer. I set teh HT Xer to 5 because the FSB it HT1000 for the CPU.

Isnt 6150 onboard graphics that could be factor of slow down in games?

i tried it with my BFG 6600GT OC from the other computer, still the same problem. so probably not
