Default [Answered] Not exactly over clocking

Wondered if someone out there can give me a hand?

After many months of shunning cleaning up the spare pc (the kids pc lol) thought it bout time i did, anyway cleaning out the system was easy enough, but couldnt help wondering why its was sluggish.
Now i run an amd athlon 2400+ and it cruises along with no probs default at 2.00ghz (and its overclocked to 2.21ghz) Now the kids pc runs a 2500+ sempron on a asus a7s9x-mx but runs at 1750ghz, is this right? i have the jumpers set on the "apparantly" max of FSB 166mhz (going by the manual) i cant overclock it as its all greyed out.
is this correct, i mean id have thought it would have been a tad higher than mine, or at least the very same at default!

all help appreciated

Steve

Athlon's are faster than semprons. They have different architectures.

And yep the default speed for a 2500+ sempron is 1750mhz You probably cant overclock it because it is a shop bought pc.

Cheers, kinda answers my problem. never again will i go for the "cheaper" option.
as for overclocking, no this is not a shop bought pc, its homes built.
