Hey Aw,

Sorry about the delay in responding to your post. The instructions you need to flash your BIOS should be taken from the site where you get your BIOS. They usually give not only very detailed instructions, but also instructions on reverting the BIOS if something goes wrong.

You have a floppy drive on this PC, what error messages are you getting when you bootup using the 98SE bootdisk? Have you tried it with a bootable CD? You might have better luck. Also, just in case, you are changing the boot order first, correct?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

i was able to flash my BIOS to the latest version, but the problem still remains. except now i either get a BSOD when windows starts, or the computer automatically does a hard-boot, the hard drives shut off then restart, and reboots, until i reset the FSB clock. i am getting sick of this thing now. i should be all set, so why isnt it working??

Yeah.Igotanew motherboard andCPU. Currently, I have my AMD Athlon XP (T-Bred A) 1500+ running at 1.33Ghz.(100mhz (DDR) FSB) I have my DDR333 capableRAM running at DDR266 (133mhz). When i update the BIOS, it will allow me to run the RAM at 333 (166) but only with the FSB at 266 (133), which meansmy CPU will run about 1.73Ghz. It currently runs about 120 degrees F at Idle and about 135 under full load. is that a safe speed to run it at? I want to squeeze every bit of performance i can out of it, but not if it means comprimising my only working XP. I have a 2200+but i cant getit to work, all i get is a blank screen. no POST. So what do you think? I would like to run my RAM as fast as safe. But i dont know how my CPU will handle it. please help. the motherboard in question is in my 'My PC' thing. Also, my RAM is running at 2.5T CAS and on normal timings.
