Cpu's, they have a tendancy to exctremely overheat even when not overclocked. USe a Intel to overclock,,in my opinion anyway.
You dont need alot of
Ram to overclock..You can overclock with 64 megs of
ram in your system. For example, if you click the link in my signature named "my computer" it shows what mine tests at. I have an AMD 4200+x2 dual core. it was shipped and is normally 2.2ghz (the 4200+ just means that is compared to an INTEL 4.2 ghz
cpu.) but I have it overclocked to 2.8 and its stable but if I go to 3ghz its not stable.
Also I am on all air. I have 1 80mm fan in the front 2 in the back and one on the side. But I also have a nice Lian Li case which disipates heat very well. I think Hengis owns one as well.
As for AMD's not being easy to overclock? They overclock much easier than Intels and you an change the multimpliers on them. AMD's are made to take more heat. Like if I was running 60c full Load that would be fine for an AMD but and Intel would be burning up at that temp. But mine runs at 38c full load.
Overclocking for me is a way to save alot of money, take my
cpu again for an example..
I bought it for 120.00 us.. I now have it overcloked and it pushes the same speed rating as an AMD FX-62 which is a 600.00 us
cpu so I saved alot of money.. I agree you have to know what your doing to overclock and it aint for the faint of heart or the non risk taker. But its easy and addicting (alot)
As for your
CPU AW_3_3 I would not push it anymore. Somthing is holding it back weather it be heat, a jumper problem on your motherboard or your
Ram. (more likely your
ram.
You can get an SATA HD and put it in a HD encloser that you can plug in to a USB hub on your PC. You wont get all the speed but its allot faster than an IDE HD
Edit.. Dont jump to 975

from 910.. Go to 915 then 917 go slow so your
cpu does not get fried. it took me a week to get my
cpu up there cause I took it slow so I knew I would not fry it.
