Man listen, do not overclock unles you have a lot of RAM and a nice cooling system. A few 80mm fans will not do. If you are serious about overclocking a nice amount, upgrade your RAM and consider a better cooling system. Plus you should not overclock AMD Cpu's, they have a tendancy to exctremely overheat even when not overclocked. USe a Intel to overclock,,in my opinion anyway.

um, ok. I have 512mb RAM. The highest my motherboard will let me overclock by raising teh FSB is 975. either that or 910 (FSB 150/140) I have 2 High-flow 80mm fans at the front and back, plus a power supply with excellent airflow. PLUS, my CPU is an Intel. AND, the CPU fan is a 60mm AMD Fan. I dont think ill have any issues. the air coming out of the case is not very warm, just a little more than room temperature, except for the PSU air, which is slightly warmer. I dont have cooling issues.

the problem, is the computer locks up when i use it for a few minutes overclocked to 910. If i overclock it to 975, it lock during POST and i have to clear CMOS to get it to work. THAT is the issue.

You dont need alot of Ram to overclock..You can overclock with 64 megs of ram in your system. For example, if you click the link in my signature named "my computer" it shows what mine tests at. I have an AMD 4200+x2 dual core. it was shipped and is normally 2.2ghz (the 4200+ just means that is compared to an INTEL 4.2 ghz cpu.) but I have it overclocked to 2.8 and its stable but if I go to 3ghz its not stable.

Also I am on all air. I have 1 80mm fan in the front 2 in the back and one on the side. But I also have a nice Lian Li case which disipates heat very well. I think Hengis owns one as well.

As for AMD's not being easy to overclock? They overclock much easier than Intels and you an change the multimpliers on them. AMD's are made to take more heat. Like if I was running 60c full Load that would be fine for an AMD but and Intel would be burning up at that temp. But mine runs at 38c full load.

Overclocking for me is a way to save alot of money, take my cpu again for an example..

I bought it for 120.00 us.. I now have it overcloked and it pushes the same speed rating as an AMD FX-62 which is a 600.00 us cpu so I saved alot of money.. I agree you have to know what your doing to overclock and it aint for the faint of heart or the non risk taker. But its easy and addicting (alot)

As for your CPU AW_3_3 I would not push it anymore. Somthing is holding it back weather it be heat, a jumper problem on your motherboard or your Ram. (more likely your ram.

You can get an SATA HD and put it in a HD encloser that you can plug in to a USB hub on your PC. You wont get all the speed but its allot faster than an IDE HD

Edit.. Dont jump to 975 from 910.. Go to 915 then 917 go slow so your cpu does not get fried. it took me a week to get my cpu up there cause I took it slow so I knew I would not fry it.

It just sems that p is at its limit. If you open the case and look at the motherbaord, right by the cpu there should be some jumpers.. At least most did way back when. It should let you know how high the cpu can go..Read this and follow it. You may get a few extra mhz squeezed out of there.

http://www.pchelpforum.com/overclock...rclocking.html

My cpu is overcloked by 600 mhz, but can go a little higher before running into problems (BSOD's) Thats wierd that you only have those 2 options left.

Getting "better" ram will not help alot in the overclocking process. To much money to spend on getting a few mhz out of it.
