Default Overclocking Problems on 7600 GS

Hey all,
ive got a albatron 7600 GS 256mb, i cant change any clock frequencies at all... i can access the overclock utility in the Nvidia control panel, but i cant change any frequencies up or down. They are sitting at Core 400 and Memory 350 and wont change either way? Anyone know whats wrong?

Hi Souluna, some video cards are actually phsyically unable to overclock - and i personally strongley recommend against overclocking - the gain isn't that much.

However, you can try downloading coolbits which is a registry entry which allows you to use those sliders.

hey thanks, but ive got coolbits reg installed already, and no settings will allow to be changed, also i know this card is capable of being overclocked because ive had it oc'd before. could this be in any way tied to my new mobo?

Possible but doubtful.

Have you updated your drivers since you installed coolbits? This normally disables coolbits.

Another program that does more then what you could hope, (although very dangerous and much like garhar I disagree with doing it all together) is called rivatuner. That program will do everything you need it to do and more, but be aware, over-clocking any piece of hardware voids it's warranty and risks destroying it, so use the highest caution possible.
