Yessir-- I was aware of those discs... but if you are installing from an "upgrade" CD-- I don't think that Windows registation will work... meaning that you can INSTALL but you can't UPDATE-- at least not automatically. Which is a pain... of course.

Why would XP necessarily run slower?
what we're saying is that your PC has enough RAM /CPU power (GHZ) to easily run XP... and that XP is a much better/faster/ easier to use OS than Windows ME. You would most likely see a FASTER computer overall by UNINSTALLING Windows ME, and installing Windows XP. Especially if you already have had those games running under ME... they'll probably run BETTER under XP. With a Pentium 3-- this will never be a raging speed-demon rig-- but it will almost certainly run better than it does now-- not worse.
Especially if you learn how to tweak XP to get the most out of your sytem while gaming.

Sure you can just close excess software while gaming in Windows ME-- will it help?? almost a sure thing. But I've HAD both Windows ME and XP-- and Windows XP blows ME away. Period.

ME was the WORST windows version EVER.

IMHO.

ih8bills is right

I had ME installed for about a week...and that week I couldn't stay in windows for more then 5 hours without it crashing.

Install Windows XP...magic, everything solved.

This is when i had a P3 450 with 128mb of memory...it ran faster and more stable then windows ME
