Do you know if your P4 has a Northwood or a Prescott core?

Have you tried upping the FSB - if you are careful and only raise the FSB by single points each time - followed by testing - you can gain a very nice speed increase over all.

Also, have you updated the bios to the very latest version? http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l...77&modelmenu=1

It is the northwood core

I managed to get it upto about 2.9 at the post screen but when it booted up XP it just restarted.

i'll update the bios and try again, i'll let you know how it goes

thanks mate

P.S. it was the P4S800 MX and not the P4S800 MX SE

Sorry dude, as far as I'm aware, you can't unlock the Northwood core multiplier...only the Prescott
