Good job, I'll be waiting for your reply.
Btw. when resetting the cmos, be sure to unplug the power cable and don't press the power button on your computer (can drain the mobo battery or damage bios)

managed to reset the CMOS... to no avail though. however, there is a note in the manual just below where it tells you how to reset the CMOS and it says...

For system failure due to overclocking, use the C.P.R. (CPU Parameter Recall) feature. Shut down and reboot the system so the BIOS can automatically reset parameter settings to default values.
i've looked through the manual but can't find anything else on CPR!

i found out CPR just reverts to default settings if you O/C too far, so i dont think that will help my current problem!

mobo is an ASUS K8N4-E Deluxe

anyone know of any software that i can use to O/C instead of going into Jumperfree configuration in the bios?

thanks by the way btalman

i'm going to take some frustration out on BF2, be back later!

You can try the hard way. Unplug the power cable and remove the mobo battery for a few minutes. Then put it back in, plug the power cable in and see what happens.
Good luck, Bram
ps. I'll be away as well, still sunny over here, and lots of people outside, so: time for a few beers :-)
