Overclocking - wont get past boot screen on anything but stock speed? posted in the Hardware forums; cheers for the reply. i've read a couple of giudes so i'm pretty sure about the procedure itself, its just as if something has been 'tripped' and now it wont ...

cheers for the reply. i've read a couple of giudes so i'm pretty sure about the procedure itself, its just as if something has been 'tripped' and now it wont let me run on anything but stock settings unless its reset, if that makes sense? cheers for the advice so far, i guess i'll just have to stump the expense and go for an opteron in a few months.

Have you tried the 'failsafe settings' or the 'default srttings' and started/continued tweaking from there? That way you're making sure all settings are back to what they should be

Hmmmz, have you also tried resetting the bios/cmos using the jumper option? (see mobo manual). You need to change a jumper position, wait a few secs, and place it back to it's old position.
