Hi Dell User,

There are some really great tutorials on overclocking in the Overclocking forum, under PC Hardware, here is a good basic one http://www.pchelpforum.com/overclock...rclocking.html

Realize that overclocking can damage your computer, and will shorten the life expectency of the PC. It should be done with care, make sure that you know exactly what you are doing before attempting it.

Let us know how that tutorial is for you and one of the staff can reccomend another if you need it.

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW

OK Dell,

What other information do you need? Are there specific bits of information that we might be able to supply you with?

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

How do I overclock an Intell cpu?
Whats involved in doing it? Is it hard to do?

what kind of intel chip is it?

Can you do it in a laptop.

Not recommended doing it in a laptop because of heat issues involved when overclocking

Thanks

Sorry for the late reply.

Not sure what Intell chip because I was just cirous as to how to do it. But if I can understand this process I probably would be "overclocking" my dell with a Intell P. 4, not shure on the ghz, I think its 2.20 or somthing like that.

here is an article on overclocking a pentium 4 2.4ghz CPU, if your CPU uses an 800Mhz bus then this should apply to you.

If you are not entirely sure of what CPU you have then download CPU-Z and this will give you all the info that you require
