Default What are stable temps?

I'm just curious, I have an Athlon 2800+ Newcastle, and I was wondering what is a stable temperature. When I built it a year ago, I didn't know much about computers, but I did overclock it from 1.8 Ghz to 2.0 Ghz, so if anyone could give me some average AMD CPU Temps that would be sweetness. Thanks.

Realise that there's a difference between AMD and Intel when you're checking processor temps. AMD can handle much higher temperatures than Intel processors can.

LOL, just make sure u keep your PC heatsinks clean though, i Have been through two pentium 3.0 prescotts, cos they were overclocked to 3.6 and 1024fsb, or something round those marks. they were running cool untill dust collected in the heatsinks stoping the air flow. The last one reached 70oc. and the little thermoswitch kept locking the pc up. (to make sure the processor didnt die)

But as long as they r cool, overclocking in my experience, it is perfectly safe.

Hi,

if you overclock your cpu, aswel as keeping your cpu heatsink free of dust, try and add some more cooling into the pc. Preferably two fans, one at front and one at back, one to suck the air in, and one to exhale the air out, heeps it much cooler!
