Welcome to PCHF,

What are you trying to overclock, the chip/FSB or the graphics card?

If you are going to tweak the FSB then you will need to check that your CPU is properly cooled. This will require you removing the heat-sink and fan and checking that the right amount of heat compound is applied to the top of the cpu die....your problem may be caused by over-heating.

That may be the problem, my CPU runs hot anyway, about 80 degrees F, I'm using the stock heatsink and fan that came with my CPU btw, along with 3 more case fans, Thanks I will get some compound and try that.

Also maybe try a new heatsink and fan...something a bit more "industrial"

Allright! so far that did the trick, running at 2.3 gig, Doom 3 on ultra is no prob, put an extra fan blowing toward the vid card so we'll try to oc that next along with some more on the cpu. What kind of numbers should I expect if I get a better heatsink and fan? Also Im was running at 2.0 gig, not 2.2. (AMD64 3200)
