Default [Answered] OC athlon 1.1

I have a measly athlon skt A 1.1Ghz and my motherboard which is a VIA kt133A Chipset, i have several options in my bios for overclocking the CPU,Memory and such things. My question....... what are the safest settings to use to get the best performance o0ut of my cpu.

Curently i have it at the factory standard settings of:

CPU Clock Speed 1133.4 MHz
Clock multiplier x 8.5
Front Side Bus Frequency 133.3 MHz
Bus Speed 266.7 MHz

any thoughts please?

Your processor speed could go up to 1200 or 1300, but I don't know about the rest.

I would say pump up your fsb by 10 and run a benchmark test 2 times to burn it in, and then do it again by 10 untill you get a reboot, then you will have to up your v-core on your psu, then change your ram timings. But I would say you could get at least a 400 to 500 mhz overclock on that thing just on air.

Burn it in? Once it is set it will perform how it is supposed to perform for that setting without burning it in, won't it?

what we overclockers call it when you run it for a good half hour or more at the new speed, that way you dont shock the cpu. I had an Intel 3.06 b4 my new gaming rig, and I overclocked it to 3.7gz stable

Edit: Ya it will perform the same but you dont know how it is going to act under high pressure. you dont want to be doing somthing important and find out your cpu make's the pc reboot due to a high fsb without burning it in first you know th cpu can take it.

OK, I see.
So basically you burn it in so you don't burn your processor (but that is another topic :P Gotta love those fire extinguishers).
