Dont need chat your gonna want to print this....Ok first of lets make sure your 9800 pro can take 9800xt speeds....

Get rid of ATI tool....

Download this instead...Rage 3d

These are 9800xt normal speeds

Clock Speed 412MHz
Memory speed 730MHz

these are 9800 pro speeds

Clock Speed 380MHz
Memory speed 680MHz

Now with Rage 3d what you want to do is up the core first...(clock speed) from 380 to 405
and run this program once Aqua Mark

Next (if no white dots on anyting) up the memroy speed to 700 and run the program again..
If still no white pixels up the core to 412
run the program again(still no signs of white dots)
then up the memory speed to715 and keep running the program after each up in the memory speed(do not run the core speed more that 412mhz!!!)
you can keep going up on the meory speed) But again do not go past 740 for the memory speeds)

Okay, i got the program installed and everything just how u said. According to the program however, my settings were way under what the default settings. The program said that they were set to low 300s. So i put the bottom one as close as possible to the number you gave me as default 9800 pro, and the screen got a bunch of lines. i turned off the PC as soon as i could in hope that i wouldnt fry the card. The card apears to be fine, but now when i try to run windows, it doesnt work, after a few seconds the screen goes black and the monitor turns off. Right now im running it in safe mode. do u know what i can do?

yes reinstall the origanl drivers in safe mode!? then come back online, so we can see why your card is so underclocked?

Your card is not burnt out. Just you need to turn down your setting's in Rage.. when you get some drivers installed let me know what your default settings where for your card!!
