Default FreeNAS copy errors

I installed FreeNAS on computer fine! I mounted and shared the extra hard drive.

I need to transfer / copy about 5k files (1.5 GB). I very small time into the process, a error appears and states the destination is full. I am using a 30 GB drive.

FreeNAS info page shows that the drive is empty (using WebGUI).

Any help would be appreciated.

Sinercely,
Fred Schaible

Hi Fred,

This can happen if you are transferring the files directly the root directory of the drive. Try creating folders on the NAS drive and transferring the files into them. If the NAS drive is formatted with FAT the maximum number of files you can put in the root directory is 512. If your files have long names then this figure will be lower.

Please let me know if you have tried transferring them to folders on the drive and you still get the error. Also please post back the exact error code.

The amount of the files in size totals 1.5 GB.
(not sure of the amount of files)
The NAS hard drive is 30GB and has nothing on it, so it is empty.
The NAS is formatted UFS(GPT and small updates)

The error is "not enough room on destination drive"
