Default mac won`t work

OK so got a mac g5 os 10.4, firstly couldn`t get it online it won`t recognised my speed touch connection, loads the driver and the symbol shows up for the connection but then won`t connect.....

secondly, the guy I bought it off gave a disc to upload/upgrade to 10.5 put it in and it stalled ........sat for ages saying time left 1 hr 25 mins so I cancelled the install and hit delete.....now I swithch the mac on and nothing happens absolutely nothing......its like it doesn`t know what it is or thats it meant to turn on or anything.......am I bolloxed or is there something I can do to get back?????????

Hello midge have you tried last known good config or safe mode?

How far into the upgrade did you get?

Do you have the operating system disk for the origonal install?

As far as I know, Mac doesn't have a Last Known Good Config startup option.

It sounds like the Mac OS X installer deleted the old boot stuff, and then when you cancelled, you were left with missing boot things from the hard disc.

Have you tried booting from the install disc again? insert the disc and restart, holding C. Then try the installer again.
