Hello bking27, welcome to PCHF

I've personally never heard of Microsoft offering a bypass key, as the full version of Microsoft Windows costs more then the upgrade version.

Your best bet is to purchase the full version of XP from somewhere like here: buy cheap Microsoft, Windows XP Home, $93, discount sale online, buy Windows XP Home - N09-02142. Retail, OEM and license, latest version for Windows and Mac. Genuine Software. (you may be able to find cheaper).

Microsoft tech support do generate a key but however if this is a genuine problem such as you origonal key will not activate, then they will then help by generating an activation key and will talk you through the process.
However if you do NOT own an origonal key I am uunerstanding they do not generate a new key.
As you need a key to finish the install process of formatting a pc.

Phone the tech support and see what they can do?
